My grandpa is the kind of person who you absolutely must always give a birthday card, unless you want to get a hardcore guilt trip. Sometimes !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . But I’ve got a solution!

You’ve probably seen random slightly-not-useful-for-real-holidays e-cards from someecards.com pop up in your facebook feed. I wasn’t sure if these were just jokes, or if they were actual cards. Turns out, you really can send people e-cards through someecards, and they’re free. Score!
A few weeks ago, my grandpa’s 91st birthday was coming up, and I missed the window to send him a real card in the mail and have it arrive on time. But I knew I could fall back on an e-card, because my grandpa loves e-cards and anything to do with email, including !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I sent him an e-card about getting drunk on a Monday, and I’m not sure if he got the joke, but he did at least send a reply that he was checking me off his list of people who needed to send him a card, or else. “That fills out all the greetings from my immediate family,” indeed.
So...now Father’s Day is coming up on Sunday, and my dumb ass once again forgot to get a card in the mail on time. Which means grandpa’s going to get another slightly inappropriate e-card!
